Before you purchase a new turbo it's important to make sure your electronic wastegate actuator solenoid is in proper working condition. Here is how to test your stock electronic wastegate actuator solenoid along with a few signs that your solenoid may need replacing. He351cw Electronic Waste Gate Actuator Solenoid Test: Unplug the electrical connection from the wastegate actuator solenoid. Apply a 12v charge to one of the prongs protruding from the waste gate actuator solenoid connector and apply a ground to the other. (You should hear a click when voltage is applied) If you have a boost gauge in the truck you can also reference it to make sure you are reaching proper boost levels.
